ABOUT
Gardner Dorton is a poet and professional writer living in Knoxville, TN. He received his MFA in Poetry from the College of Charleston in 2019. His poems have appeared in The Greensboro Review, Rattle, The Florida Review, Narrative, and elsewhere. His debut poetry collection “If I Were God I Would Also Start With Light” was published in September 2024.

Gardner has worked with over 15 clients for copywriting such as BurgerFi, Children’s Hospital of Richmond, Suzuki Marine, StoragePug, Liebherr, University of Miami Business School, Warbird Gear, Label Industries, and more. His work has varied from full-time to contract and individual projects. Gardner specializes in social media, blog writing, and creative marketing.

Dogwood Valley Books was founded in June of 2024. It’s a boutique collection of small press book titles, featuring some of the country’s finest authors- indie writers. We work with presses like Sundress Publications, Variant Literature, Hub City Press, Trio House Press, Thirty West Publishing House, and Black Lawrence Press. We’re only growing from here!
